The use of certain Sacred Plants for community and personal rites is as old as plants and the First Peoples who learned to use them. Saging or Smudging is the ceremonial use of Sacred Plants to cleanse body and mind, space and spirit.
In many First Peoples traditions, plants like Sage, Cedar, Copal, and Sweet Grass, have long histories of use and are considered highly sacred gifts of Creator and the Earth. They are traditionally and sustainably gathered and used as offerings to consecrate and cleanse, moving old energies, and bringing in abundant Earth Blessings to all.
