Learn how Sages and your Smudging Rituals can be adapted to Spring Ceremony
Join me for a 4-part Sage and Smudge course that begins with a solid foundation in Smudging Basics, and moves into "Honoring the Medicine", Seasonal smudging rituals for Spring Equinox, and special Spring days, and lunar cycles.
A special 4-Class SPRING Smudge course like no other that will include:
* 3 - Live Online classes on the Zoom live platform (Beginning March 19, see Details below)
* 1 - Recorded class on Smudging Basics~ based on FAQ's
What this Class will Teach:
* A Foundation in "How to Smudge" based on traditional practices
* How to gear your practice to your needs to Release old Winter energies, and Invite Spring Abundance;
* Ways to deepen and empower your Smudge Ceremony with Seasonal and Lunar timing
* New concepts in "Sustainable Smudging", from those who grow and harvest Sages
* What it means to "Honor the Medicine" in your smudge ceremony
* Smudging Ritual in 4-steps, with ways to adapt these to your own beliefs
* Smudging "how to" demos throughout the course
* Learn about various Sacred Plants, beyond sage: what makes them Sacred Medicine~and varied ways of working with them
* Students will use their own Smudge supplies for this course (whatever sages herbs or incense you have on hand); A smudge kit will not be included.
* Gain confidence in conducting strong and effective rituals that create balance and wholeness
* Participate in live classes (3) to ask questions; join the class on Facebook to discuss homework experiences together.
Tara will pass on field notes, stories, and experience from her everyday practice living and working with Sacred Plants (Sacred Land Sage)- in ways both traditional and non-traditional. A Smudging Foundation class will be provided the week before classes start. Explore uses of Sacred plants, woods, and resins for Spring. Topics will touch on Energy and Intention-setting, "what words do we say?", Demos and basics in Release, Inviting Abundance, New Moon rituals, Purification, and connections to Earth and Spirit through Sage rituals and their Sacred Smoke.
Course Format
This Spring Smudge class will be an interactive web course presented on the Zoom platform; you will be emailed a link a few days before the class- with a Zoom link and instructions. Zoom is simple to use and popular; we will talk about the program in our first Live class together. Each live class provides opportunities to share, discuss, and ask questions. Because schedules vary- all classes will be recorded and you will be able to view each classes when convenient for you; you will be sent links. We hope you will participate live!! There will be a private Facebook group to post homework, discussions, and to ask further questions.

-(3) Live classes on 3 Mondays in March & April, at 10a Pacific Standard Time
-(1) Pre-recorded "Smudging Basics" Foundation Class Video- With slides downloadable slides (available after March 14);
Materials needed:
* A working computer with good internet to stream classes, and a love of Smudging ritual!
As far as smudge materials, no special materials are needed. Students are invited to use their own smudge supplies (includes incense, Medicine bundles, or loose leaf sages or plants). Feel free to purchase yours locally. If you would like to purchase from our smudge shop- let us know so that we can provide you with a discount coupon for students of this Spring Class in our sage Webshop during the class in March & April. (To keep the price down, there is no smudge kit associated with this class.)
What to Expect:
* Students will receive the Smudging Basics Foundation class video the week before class begins, and are asked to review this before Mar. 19th. We will begin where this video ends.
*For each class, as we discuss Ritual, Sacred Plants, and topics, students are asked to journal on the topics presented in homework questions for each class, (i.e. how you apply your unique beliefs and experiences in your own ritual), and to post your homework and thoughts on our shared Facebook group page.
* There will be a private FB group established for registrants where we will post homework and private discussions. This is a supportive group and a great place to ask questions.

After Mar. 15 - the first course link for Class I (Sacred Smudging Basics) will be sent to you for viewing. Biologist (MS.) Sage Planting and Harvest

Tara Linda’s first memories were collecting iron, arrows, and shells from the Sonoran desert where she grew up. She was taught sacred uses of Plants as a way to heal and self-balance from Yaqui, Cherokee and Tibetan healer-mentors. Trained as a biologist, Tara was taught to wild-harvest sacred plants for personal ceremony. She began conducting house blessings for others 25 years ago. She now teaches and helps others craft their own personal ceremony with Sacred Plants- to celebrate milestones, changes, and for personal healing. Based in Northern California, Tara enjoys planting native sage gardens for bees and local Land Spirits. She grows sage and wild-crafts smudge blends for her shop Sacred Land Sage. Tara is certified in Subtle Energy Healing and Crystal Therapy. In addition to her love of indigenous wisdom and her full-time work as a Sage grower, Tara's spiritual practice includes both indigenous and Tibetan Buddhist practices. She is a 30 year student of Nyingma and Bön traditions, Tara Linda is also a musician, recording artist, and poet. |
