Though there are different traditions in Smudging, the way I was taught~ old and stagnant energies are removed and cleared away first with certain Evergreen Spirits.This is followed by a 2nd step in Smudging with the Sages to Invite and fill with positive Energies and Blessings, to bless your space and heart, now that the old energies are gone. This is why Sacred Land Sage groups sages in multi-packs that provide a balance of Spirit and earth energies, when used together, for a certain purpose (i.e. Cleansing, Purifying, Invoking, energizing...)

*Shasta Blue Sage: Sweet Mountain Sage~ for clarity, calming, Spirit work. A companion with Lemurian crystals.
*Sweet Feather Sage: Celebrates new beginnings; Sweet lightness.
* Lakota Prairie Sage: From the Grand Canyon Area; Sacred Sage to many tribes West to East. Carries many Blessings.

The originally Native Peoples practice of burning sage/herbs for Blessing, offering, and creating Sacred Space; using smoke from Sacred Plants/herbs- to cleanse oneself, space, and energy field in offering, gratitude, and prayer; practiced by tribes across North, Central, and South America for centuries.

**USES** For all Sages
~House Blessing/ Cleansing to purify oneself and and surroundings of negativity and unwelcome energies.
~ Offer/burn before beginning new projects.
~ After illness, or conflict~ Move stagnant air; breathe a fresh start.
~ Smudge to bring outdoor Spirit Blessings inside the home.
~ Smudge before and after guests leave to move energies. If guests are open and familiar with the ritual of smudging, it is traditional to smudge guests before they travel on- with prayers for safe travels.
**PLEASE Smudge Wise when burning your herb bundles** Do not leave a burning smudge wand unattended. Take extra care around children and pets. When finished burning, run the tip under running water to make sure the burning ember inside is fully extinguished. Hang it to dry for your next use.
