This particular large smudge stick is bundled with 5 additional herbs inside the Feather Sage: Sweetgrass, Juniper, White Sage, Lavender, and Rosemary.

Feather "sage" is actually not a true sage, but belongs to the family- Artemesia, and is closer to Shasta Blue sages and Desert sagebrush. It has delicate feather-like leaves, and a lighter, sweeter scent than White sage. Heavenly!

* USES* Feather Sage Blend contains 5 Herbs collected from CA, NM, AZ, & UT.

"SMUDGING": the word used to describe the Native Indian practice of burning sage/herbs for Blessing and creating Sacred Space; using smoke to cleanse one’s self, space, and energy; practiced by by tribes across North, Central, and South America. Sacred Land Sage.

**OBSIDIAN**
Obsidian is a very sacred stone to tribes across the Americas. Said to be a quick-acting, a strong crystal that absorbs negativity from the environment, (making it a good companion with your Juniper/Cedar); it will add extra earth power to your ceremony. Said to instantly soothe and calm a worried mind, Obsidian is a great grounding stone for both mind and heart. A special stone for meditation. Should be cleansed often under running water.

**The ARROWHEAD** is an ancient symbol reminding us of the Old World of the Americas. An important symbol to tribes, it is "a symbol for prayer...the shape of thought traveling to the divine" (Gerald Hausman). Traditionally interpreted on rock walls as resources, success in the hunt; focus. In current belief, the arrowhead signifies resourcefulness, our connection to all Creatures, and success in the highest spiritual endeavors.

** SMUDGING DIRECTIONS** Open a window first for air flow. Light the bundle tip, blow out flame. Keeping your sage bundle in shell or bowl, begin to fan smoke toward the heart first with your hand or a feather, and then over the head and all around the body to cleanse and clear the space around you. Your intention to cleanse and bless is key in smudging. Ritually bless yourself, each other, and your living/working spaces and tools. Your intentions intensify your offering. When finished, extinguish the bundle ember once your blessing ritual is finished- by either submerging it in sand or passing the bundle tip under running water. Prop up bundle in a bowl to dry, and it will be ready for your next cleansing ritual. Smudge as often as you feel a desire to begin, renew, and feel blessings.

SHIPPING: This item ships US Priority Domestic.

**PLEASE** use care and wisdom when burning your herb bundles: Do not leave a burning smudge wand unattended. Take extra care around children and pets. When finished burning, run the tip under running water to make sure the burning ember inside is fully extinguished. Hang it to dry, or just prop up in your bowl, for your next use. These herbs are not safe for consumption. Only use for sachets, or burning as incense.
