MUGWORT Smudge Bundle PROTECTION 8-9" Seasonal Cleanse/ Dream Work, Smudge Stick. Native Blessing, Herbal Incense, Sacred Altar
100% Mugwort Large Smudge Bundle~ a popular ritual herb for ceremony and dream work in many traditions. Commonly used for purification and protection in smudging.
What is "SMUDGING"? an originally Native Indian practice of burning sage/herb bundles for Cleansing, Blessing, and creating Sacred Space; using smoke to cleanse one’s self, space, and energy; practiced by tribes across North, Central, and South America for over 50,000 years.
** Mugwort: commonly called "black sage", is actually not a true sage but an Artemisia. It is called by various names including St. John's Wort, and is a beautiful Plant Spirit that grows wild abundantly here in our California hills. Mugwort has silvery green color on one side of its leaves, and dark forest green on the other side.
*In Smudging Ceremony: Mugwort has a light sweet scent, much lighter than CA White Sage. It is a purifying herb that removes negativity and stale energy from our spaces and energy field to prepare us for ritual.
With a long history of use among many cultures of all directions. Mugwort is most commonly used to clear negative energies, give protection, and induce dreaming. Lakota tribes believe Mugwort wards off all evil spirits. It is used for magic in Wiccan traditions, and many traditions use Mugwort for work with Spirit Guides and dreams.
**Note: this herb is for incense use ONLY:
**Harmful if ingested.
Do NOT Burn if Pregnant.
I put the name "black sage" in quotes because true black sage, Salvia mellifera is traditional true black sage, a Salvia used by West Coast tribes in ceremony. We grow and harvest Hummingbird black Sage here at Sacred Land Sage. It is an altogether different Plant Spirit with a different energy from Mugwort. Both have their ritual uses.
